Easy and affordable wastewater monitoring

What is a TransMeter?

A TransMeter is a system that monitors wastewater flow. It's an easy way to meet council regulations and to keep an eye on your wastewater volumes.

Why?

Most of our customers use a TransMeter as it is a required activity by local councils. But there are other reasons too:

Owner responsibility.
Owners of onsite systems are responsible for making sure their system is working efficiently and safely.

Monitoring wastewater usage.
A TransMeter can help you keep an eye on your wastewater systems, and to make sure that everything is working well. This can be particulary useful for landlords.

Early detection of issues.
A TransMeter can ensure that treatment tanks and discharge areas are not overloaded by excess water use/wastewater generation and it is also invaluable in identifying if systems are affected by stormwater ingress.

Environmental benefits.
Well-functioning onsite wastewater systems have low environmental impacts and can even benefit the local environment. Poorly-functioning systems however, can be a health and environmental hazard, both locally and downstream. Both local councils and property owners are responsible for ensuring that wastewater systems function in accordance with the design. A TransMeter is a great aid to achieving those goals.

Why us?

1

Affordable

We offer an affordable onsite wastewater monitoring service that will enable you to comply with council requirements.

There is also an option to receive text and/or email alerts for specified events (e.g. when your system is nearing its daily capacity).

About us.

Transmeter was born from the need to have an affordable onsite wastewater monitoring system that meets council consent requirements.

It is the brainchild of Craig Brown, an accredited onsite wastewater engineer, and Jan Bakuwel, a professional electronics and software engineer.

We're based on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. We’re passionate about sustainability and the environment. Onsite wastewater systems involve very little infrastructure and ensure nutrients from wastewater are treated and recycled onsite.

All of the Transmeter Ltd team use onsite wastewater systems and use a TransMeter to make sure our own systems perform optimally.
